<h3>A﻿s part of the Oxytocin Collective Care programme 13-20 May 2023, Procreate Project presents:</h3><h3>Creative writing workshop on free birth facilitated by artist Poppy Jackson + health/birth supporter </h3><h3>The Home/Free Birthing Manifesto </h3><p>During this workshop we will utilise action, discussion and debate; writing, drawing and performance in order to create a Manifesto to reclaim the act of giving birth at home.</p><p><strong>Poppy Jackson</strong> is an internationally practicing visual and performance artist. Her work has been presented across Europe and America and has featured in the BBC, New York Times, Guardian, Independent and ArtReview. The artist will draw from her own personal experience of negotiating a home birth after receiving a call from her midwife stating that her right to home birth had been removed due to COVID-19 restrictions. The subsequent home birth of baby Wanda became the central part of Jackson’s Arts Council England project SUMMIT: The Politics of the Pregnant Body at our Current Time, through which the artist was able to regain autonomy and control over her own basic choices for her body and baby. </p><h3>*﻿ If you have any access need please email events@procreateproject.com </h3><h3>T﻿o see the rest of the Oxytocin Collective Care programme please visit our page.</h3>
